Where are we and how to get here
Cherveix Cubas
is a small village of about 700 people located in
the north east Dordogne about 45 miles south of
Limoges, 30 miles east of Perigueux and near to
Hautefort (3 miles) and Excideuil (6 miles).
Driving
Les Flamands is about a 6 to 8 hour drive from the channel
ports (Calais, Caen, St. Malo etc.). Easiest access is to leave the A20 motoway
at Limoges junction 36 and continue on the D704 via St. Yrieix-la-Perche and
Cherveix Cubas (about 40 minutes). From the south Cherveix Cubas is about 15
minutes from junction 17 (Thenon) of the A89 motorway.
Flying
Limoges and Bergerac airports are both about 1 hour from
Cherveix Cubas. Both airports have several daily flights from Stansted,
Southampton, Liverpool, East Midlands, Exeter and other UK airports. . Bordeaux
(Merignac) airport is about 2.5 hours drive from Cherveix Cubas. Bordeaux has
direct flights from most parts of the world as well as connecting flights from
Paris and most other major European cities. Hire cars are available at all
airports.
Train
From the UK by Eurostar changing in Paris. You have a choice
of the TGV to Angouleme (about 2 hours drive from Cherveix Cubas) or the 'train
rapide' service to Limoges or Brive. Hire cars are available from the stations
but check the availability if travelling on Sundays or public holidays.
From Bordeaux airport there is a bus service to the city
centre railway station where you can get a direct train to Perigueux. Hire cars
are available at the station. Perigueux is about a 40 minute drive to Cherveix
Cubas.
