Les
Flamands in the village Cherveix Cubas in
the north eastern Dordogne offers reasonably
priced holiday cottages with a swimming
pool. Cherveix Cubas is easily accessible by
road from Limoges, by air to Bergerac and
Limoges airports and by train to Perigueux,
Brive and Limoges
The
cottages which are known as the Stable
Cottage which sleeps 6 and the Barn Cottage
which sleeps 2 are conversions of a large
stone barn that dates back to the Napoleonic
era. The cottages can be rented separately
or together and are ideal for couples and
families with children over 10 years old.
All accommodation at Les Flamands is non
smoking.
Les
Flamands is set on the edge of the village.
The village centre, where you will
find a bakery, pharmacy, Post office,
butchers as well as bars and restaurants, is
a two minute walk.
Cherveix Cubas is the northern limit of the
Perigord Noir, the region of the Perigord
known for it's truffles. The Perigord Blanc
with it's rugged landscape, known for
rock outcrops and caves and the Perigord
Vert so called for it's dense forests are
both close by. The Perigord region has a
rich history dating back to Prehistoric man.
There are many Chateaux built by the English
and French during the 100 Years War and in
more peaceful times the area has become
famous for it's gastronomy founded on local
delicacies including the truffles, foie gras,
cepes and walnuts.
